A native of Barrie, Ontario, Ian Wilson developed a fondness for railways early
in life during trips to witness Canadian National Railways steam excursions and
in cultivating a parallel interest in railway modelling. As an adult, he has
turned his lifelong passion into his life’s work by writing and
publishing a series of books documenting CNR steam operations in Ontario during
the 1950s (www.canadianbranchline.com). Ian, his wife Mary-Jo and sons Spencer
and Duncan make their home in Orillia, Ontario.
